Anantha Sharma was widely respected by all as a great Carnatic singer; but he has one bad quality-ego; of which only his wife(Radhika) knows. So much that when the Government of India awards him a Padma Sri (the fourth highest civilian award in India) he rejects it as he is given this award along with some other singers whom he considers to be not as great as him! There in the same village lives a boy called Gangadhar (Master Manjunath) who bunks music classes and school to sit by the riverside. The river inspires him to sing many songs in different tunes.
