There are twin brothers Suryam (Bharath) and Chandram (Bharat). They reach the nearby city in search of a livelihood along with their mother (Meera Krishnan), following their father's suicide. While Chandram turns an attender at a post-mortem ward in government hospital, Suryam gets a job in a book lending library. Chandram is a happy-go-lucky youngster. Chandram is impressed with a girl next-door Vasantha (Sandhya). Namassivaya (Mahadevan) is rich man and a politician who plans to contest the Assembly elections. Chandram is one of his party activists and has some association with him. Meghamala (Bhavana), daughter of Namassivaya falls in love with Suryam. Once Suryam saves Meghamala from the goons belonging to the opposition parties of Namassivaya. Though Meghamala's father appear to be happy for saving the life of his daughter, he doubts how and why he saved her life. He gets a Doubt that Suryam had love towards Meghamala and tells his men to bump him off. Accidentally, the goons sent by the political leader attack Chandram and being a rough guy, he bashes them up. Learning that it is the handiwork of his leader, he pleads with Namassivaya to spare his brother as he was an innocent. On information from Chandram that there was an attack on Suryam by her father, Meghamala decides to elope with Suryam. But, fate decides the other way and Suryam gets killed by Namassivaya's men. Unable to forget Suryam, Meghamala also commits suicide. Chandram decides to take revenge against Namassivaya. The rest is all about how Chandram takes revenge against him
